Denise Scott Art

Being able to paint over layers, gave me a freedom I hadn't experieced previously and I used this freedom to again explore my 'inner landscapes', throwing on colours, allowing them to dry then letting them take me along for the ride with them.

The painting Mystique, is the first experience I had with this style of painting and I was completely blown away with the images that 'turned up'. There was nothing to copy from, no ideas in my mind at all. I continued to find these faces and painted them. So intriguing.

I have continued having a huge amount of fun painting what I see in initial washes. After a trip to the Kimberley area of Western Australia, I had a series of paintings that brought out the colours of this area.

All of these paintings here have been done using this approach. Love it!!!

And the beauty of my exploration of the acrylic medium made me so much more aware of what I could do with watercolours. It has been a win win discovery.
