My Teaching Self

After many years of following my artistic dreams with classes, workshops, overseas tutoring from international artists and immersing myself totally in the world of art, it is now a huge privilege for me to pass on to beginners all the knowledge I have gained from amazing artists I have worked with. I teach watercolour at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, Queensland Mondays and Wednesdays.

I specialise in teaching beginners as I have a very clear memory of how it feels to pick up a brush for the first time or for the first time in a while. It is exciting for me when a new student experiences the joy of a finished painting and exciting to lead each student on their own artistic journey.

Whether you are a young person just starting out, a senior citizen wanting to enrich your retirement and anywhere in between, art will open new worlds for you to explore and classes will lead to many friendships with like-minded people who are also discovering this life changing experience........ Watercolour was my introduction to the art world and though a difficult medium, I enjoyed the challenge it presented. I painted what I call ‘outer landscapes of the mind’ gathering inspiration from nature, leaves, flowers, seascapes, even old boots, cars and of course, the human body.
